NRA Issues Call for White Supremacy and Armed Insurrection

since november, there has been an alarming spike in hate crimes against people of all races and religious creeds, a fair bit of which was committed in donald trump's name. he has remained pretty silent about it.   will this be america's last birthday?

NRA Issues Call for White Supremacy and Armed Insurrection

The gun lobby's new "recruitment ad" is really a call for white supremacy and armed insurrection, deliberately crafted to stir anger and fear.

NRA Issues Call for White Supremacy and [...]

Take a look at the ad below and ask whether the National Rifle Association can go any lower. Ponder this flagrant call for violence, this insidious advocacy of hate delivered with a sneer, this threat of civil war, this despicable use of propaganda to arouse rebellion against the rule of law and the ideals of democracy.

On the surface this is a recruitment video for the National Rifle Association. But what you are really about to see is a call for white supremacy and armed insurrection, each word and image deliberately chosen to stir the feral instincts of troubled souls who lash out in anger and fear:

Disgusting. Dishonorable. Dangerous. But also deliberate. Everything deplored by the NRA in the ad is committed by “they” — a classic manipulation turning anyone who disagrees with your point of view into “The Other” — something alien, evil, foreign.

They use their media to assassinate real news,” “They use their schools to teach children that their president is another Hitler,” “They use their movie stars and singers and comedy shows and award shows to repeat their narrative over and over again.”

“And then they use their ex-president to endorse the resistance.”

Well, we all know who “they” are, don’t we? This is the vitriol that has been spewed like garbage since the days of The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, blasted from lynch mobs and demagogues and fascistic factions of political parties that turn racial and religious minorities into grotesque caricatures, the better to demean and diminish and dominate.

It is the nature of such malevolent human beings to hate those whom they have injured, and the NRA has enabled more injury to more marginalized and vulnerable people than can be imagined. Note how the words “guns” or “firearms” are never mentioned once in the ad and yet we know that the NRA is death on steroids. And behind it are the arms merchants — the gun makers and gun sellers — who profit from selling automatic rifles to deranged people who shoot down politicians playing intramural baseball, or slaughter children in their classrooms in schools named Sandy Hook, or who massacre black folks at Bible study in a Charleston church, or murderously infiltrate a gay nightclub in Orlando.

Watching this expertly produced ad, we thought of how the Nazis produced slick propaganda like this to demonize the Jews, round up gypsies and homosexuals, foment mobs, burn books, crush critics, justify torture and incite support for state violence.

It’s the crack in the Liberty Bell, this ad: the dropped stitch in the American flag, the dregs at the bottom of the cup of freedom. It’s a Trump-sized lie invoked to bolster his base, discredit critics, end dissent. Joseph McCarthy must be smiling in hell at such a powerful incarnation on earth of his wretched, twisted soul.

With this savage ad, every Democrat, every liberal, every person of color, every immigrant or anyone who carries a protest sign or raises a voice in disagreement becomes a target in the diseased mind of some tormented viewer. Heavily armed Americans are encouraged to lock and load and be ready for the ballistic solution to any who oppose the systematic looting of Washington by an authoritarian regime led by a deeply disturbed barracuda of a man who tweets personal insults, throws tantrums and degrades everything he touches.

Look again at the ad. Ask yourself: What kind of fools are they at the NRA to turn America into a killing ground for sport?  To be choked with hate is a terrible fate, and it is worst for those on whom it is visited.

Take one more look, and ask: Why do they get away with it?  What is happening to us? How long do we have before the fire this time?

What does it matter? Who the hell cares? Liberals have been pushing this country around long enough! Time to push back.

How do you link the NRA to White Supremacy?
The argument the NRA has consistently used & one of the few points of philosophy I agree with them on is that guns make us more equal.

i suppose. the anti-gun crowd is a bit twisted at the NRA at the moment because of the shooting in a little rock night club last night between some people of color whose disagreement got out of hand, leaving 28 gunshot and a bunch more injured jumping out of second floor windows to get away from it.

You mean in a gun free zone, that left everyone inside vulnerable when that creep went to his car & got his gun?

What I hear is this involved members of at least one gang, that they still don’t know how many people were shooting, it sounds to me like 2 & that one was able to reload what I’ll assume was a Glock 9mm. That’s what I gathered from the audio. More gun control will not fix this problem, enforcing existing gun laws & tracking transfers from FFL dealers better will do more than new laws ever will. Mandatory life sentences for crimes where guns are used & accelerated implementation of the death penalty for those who use guns to commit crimes that end in a death… these things might have an impact if we segregate them from the people we intend to welcome back into society one day.

there were a lot of rounds i heard in that recording. definitely more than one shooter. it sounded more like three to me.

i favor treating guns like motor vehicles. owners need to pass written and practical tests and show proof of financial liability to carry one in public. i have no problem with open carry if measures are taken to prevent incompetent people from having them and penalties for misuse stiffened. i’d like to see every parent whose kid gets hold of a gun and hurts themselves or somebody else get locked up for at least a few months to think about being more responsible with their weapons.

so long as there is a black market in sex and drugs, none of that is going to stop gang bangers from shooting each other and innocent bystanders.

You mistook the reload for a 3rd shooter. There were 2 guns on the audio. You hear the 2nd in the pause while the primary shooter reloads.

I have problems with open carry, civilized people do not display their weapons creating unnecessary tension around themselves. Open carry is unless in the field a political statement. I favor gun safety & demystification as a part of an elementary education, it worked well in the past & it’s absence hasn’t created the world promised.

None of this really addresses your claim the NRA supports or promotes White Supremacy. Armed Insurrection is the very reason we have the 2nd Amendment, I support it… when there are no other options left. We vote to keep other options on the table… some of the folk who lost the vote recently are having issues with that.

After a father and son saw a man pull a knife and threaten a woman during an attempted robbery, both drew their concealed handguns and put a quick end to the misdeed. The two armed citizens in Tyler, Texas, had been driving through a shopping center parking lot when they witnessed the trouble. With two guns aimed at him, the would-be robber gave up and got down on the ground. The armed citizens held him at gunpoint until the police arrived. (easttexasmatters.com, Tyler, TX, 3/12/17)

I generally advocate for proper gun safety training for everyone, just as everyone has to cut open some critter in science class at some point unless they claim it violates their beliefs. Things like the Power Ultra shootings make me question that logic… if those gang banging fools had had proper training… there would be dead, maybe 28 dead. Yet there would also be no argument in court that they didn’t understand what they were doing.
    .
Guns don’t cause violent crime, they merely make the least of us equal to most of us in defense. Circumstances lead to the violence, one of the biggest is putting violent criminals in with non violent criminals & creating more violent criminals, it’s letting violent criminals back into society time & time again. From there we can see in the Leiden Report that violent crime stems primarily from the consumption of beer in densely populated & diverse communities. Those being the leading contributory factors in violent crimes. Beer is # 1, population density is # 2 & 3 is essentially forced diversity, I have to live here because I can’t afford anywhere else. All of this tells us that violent crime is primarily a problem that affects the poor disproportionately & it’s not racist it knows no race, it’s an opportunist it strikes what’s at hand & whatever it finds a challenge or threat.

a junkie emptied a clip in the general direction of me and a bunch of friends at pretty close range in the 70’s and missed us all. drugs and alcohol don’t do much good for a shooter’s accuracy.

more importantly, our country is being run by violent criminals. so long as criminals run the country, it’s foolish to expect the people not to be violent criminals too.

the prophetic concluding paragraph to louis brandeis’ dissent to the landmark olmstead vs us decision, upholding the legality of evidence collected through a wiretap.

// Decency, security and liberty alike demand that government officials shall be subjected to the same rules of conduct that are commands to the citizen. In a government of laws, existence of the government will be imperiled if it fails to observe the law scrupulously. Our Government is the potent, the omnipresent teacher. For good or for ill, it teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the Government becomes a lawbreaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy. To declare that, in the administration of the criminal law, the end justifies the means — to declare that the Government may commit crimes in order to secure the conviction of a private criminal — would bring terrible retribution. Against that pernicious doctrine this Court should resolutely set its face. //

Government is what we make it, we are not what it makes us. That’s a cop out.

were this really a representational constitutional republic, i imagine that would be a cop out, since the people are actually governing themselves, but this is a plutocratic oligarchy that is completely beholden to the banker gangsters of the rothschild-morgan cartel. the people see it. the people mimic it. brandeis’ words were prophetic.

// If the Government becomes a lawbreaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy. //

If it isn’t, then it’s because people haven’t taken care of it & don’t bother to vote their conscience… it’s the government we deserve, that’s the only thing you get when you vote.

Were this really the oligarchy you describe, Trump would not be President.
